Coach Mick Byrne did the best he could with the player resources available. 18 players were used in the season. Jon Rumsey was forced out of the game through illness mid-season to end a long career with Solent Stars spanning over 20 years.
The team finished with a 7 - 9 won/loss league record to finish in 5th place. The National Shield involvement had ended at the first hurdle with a defeat by East Kent Crusaders (45 - 71).
Developments over the following summer made it impossible to find another group of local players capable of competing at national level.
