Solent Stars 2005/06 Season - 2nd Team

As in the previous season, Solent entered a second team. Only one player, Larry Rowe, from the previous season's successful team was available for the first match of the season in a newly re-vamped Division Three (South). Several of the team had progressed to the first team whilst others had moved on.

Coach Mick Byrne did the best he could with the player resources available. 18 players were used in the season. Jon Rumsey was forced out of the game through illness mid-season to end a long career with Solent Stars spanning over 20 years.

The team finished with a 7 - 9 won/loss league record to finish in 5th place. The National Shield involvement had ended at the first hurdle with a defeat by East Kent Crusaders (45 - 71).

Developments over the following summer made it impossible to find another group of local players capable of competing at national level.

Players:
Yaz Al-Hakim, Alex Byrne, James Chubb, Steve Davison, Carl Duke, Neil Kelly, Ian Manley, Martin Page, Mike Peel, Laurent Rossi, Larry Rowe, John Salmon, Jon Rumsey, Paul Silcox, Richard Smithson, Craig Teesdale, Jonathan Titcombe, Chris Watson
